Five individuals have been charged in a corruption investigation involving Huawei, accused of bribing EU lawmakers. Four face charges of active corruption and criminal organization, while one is charged with money laundering. Searches were conducted at the European Parliament offices in Brussels, and Huawei's headquarters were also searched. The European Parliament has temporarily banned Huawei lobbyists from its premises as a precaution. The investigation, revealed by Le Soir and others, suggests corruption began in 2021.
