Former Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has resigned from his parliamentary seat, hinting at the formation of a new political party. He criticized the current parliament's inability to fulfill its constitutional role and expressed a desire to remain politically active. Tsipras, who led Syriza from 2008 to 2019, stepped down as party leader after a significant electoral defeat in June 2023. His potential new party could attract up to 20% of Greek voters ahead of the 2027 elections.
