His photography career began unexpectedly after World War I, culminating in the establishment of his own studio in 1933 in Budapest. He became known for his portraits and worked as a stand photographer for films, capturing significant moments in Hungarian cinema. Despite facing challenges during World War II and the subsequent nationalization of his studio, Inkey continued to work in photography until his retirement, receiving numerous accolades for his contributions to the field.
