French judges have issued a new arrest warrant for Syria's former leader Bashar al-Assad over alleged war crimes related to a 2017 barrel bomb attack that killed a French-Syrian man. The warrant is part of an ongoing investigation into the death of Salah Abou Nabout, with previous warrants issued against other Syrian officials. Omar Abou Nabout, the victim's son, expressed hope for justice. This is the second warrant against al-Assad, following one related to chemical attacks in 2013. The International Criminal Court is also involved in efforts for accountability in Syria. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
