The account has gained over 180,000 followers since September, targeting misinformation from pro-Russian and US accounts. Spokesman Pascal Confavreux emphasized the need for a proactive strategy to counter foreign informational attacks. The account uses sarcasm and meme language, generating around 15 million impressions weekly. It has responded to various claims, including those involving US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and pro-Russian narratives. Experts caution that using trolling tactics may blur the lines between democratic institutions and disinformation actors.
