Serge Atlaoui, a French national sentenced to death in Indonesia for drug-related offences, is being repatriated to France after nearly 20 years in prison. His sentence was increased from life imprisonment to death after a conviction related to MDMA manufacturing. Atlaoui has always claimed innocence, stating he was unaware of the illegal activities at the site where he worked.
