French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte visited Monaco for a historic state visit, receiving military honors from Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene. The visit emphasized the strong friendship between Monaco and France, with discussions on cooperation in various fields and bilateral issues. Macron's visit precedes the UN Ocean Conference in Nice, where the EU will launch the 'European Ocean Pact' aimed at addressing climate and pollution threats. However, some NGOs criticized the pact for lacking urgency and binding targets.
