A CMA CGM container ship, the CMA CGM Kribi, has become the first vessel with Western European ties to cross the Strait of Hormuz since the Iran war began. The ship, which had been idle since March, is heading to Pointe Noire in the Republic of Congo. Iran is also in talks with Oman to secure traffic through the Strait, and an LNG tanker has attempted its first transit since the conflict started, indicating a gradual return of various vessel types to the region.
