Four former Volkswagen executives were found guilty of fraud related to the Dieselgate emissions-cheating scandal. They received varying prison sentences, with the former head of diesel development sentenced to four and a half years. The scandal, which began in 2015, involved rigging engine software to pass emissions tests, leading to significant fines for the company. The case is ongoing, with potential appeals and further investigations.
