Rescuers in Germany have delayed their operation to save a sick humpback whale named Timmy, stranded off the Baltic Sea coast near Wismar. Experts had developed a plan to lift the whale using air cushions, but the actual operation will now begin on Friday. Local authorities had previously deemed the whale unsavable, but a last-ditch effort has been approved. The whale's plight has captured public attention, leading to protests and calls for rescue efforts.
