Lufthansa announced the shutdown of its CityLine regional subsidiary due to high jet fuel prices and ongoing labor strikes. The 27 operational aircraft will be removed from service to mitigate losses. Approximately 2,000 employees have been offered jobs in other subsidiaries. The company is also planning to reduce long-haul and short-haul services to cut costs, with further cuts expected in the winter 2026/27 schedule. Lufthansa's share price fell by over 1.5%.
