The German foreign ministry updated its travel advice for Germans traveling to the US after three nationals were denied entry and detained. The advice highlights that a criminal conviction, false information, or even a slight visa overstay can lead to arrest. The ministry clarified that having an ESTA does not guarantee entry, as the final decision rests with US border authorities. Among the detained was Fabian Schmidt, who faced severe treatment, and two others, Jessica Brösche and Lucas Sielaff, who were also sent back to Germany after their detentions.
