Dominique Pelicot, a 72-year-old man, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for drugging and raping his wife Gisèle, and for recruiting others to do the same over a decade. He will not appeal his sentence, while 17 of the 49 men convicted at his behest plan to appeal. The new trial will be judged by a jury, which may lead to harsher sentences. Gisèle Pelicot, who bravely waived her anonymity, hopes to inspire other victims to come forward. Teljes cikk (bbc.com europe)
