Three Israeli men held hostage by Hamas since October 2023 were released in exchange for 369 Palestinian prisoners. Israel views the released prisoners as terrorists, while Palestinians see them as freedom fighters. The swap indicates a fragile ceasefire is holding, despite tensions. Hamas delayed the release, accusing Israel of not adhering to agreements. The released Israelis are Iair Horn, Sagui Dekel Chen, and Alexander Troufanov. The most notable Palestinian released is Ahmed Barghouti, with many others having been sentenced for attacks against Israelis. The situation remains tense, with the potential for resumed conflict if further agreements are not reached.
