Archaeologists have discovered that the Gradishte site, previously thought to be a military outpost, is actually the ancient city of Lyncus, significant for its historical role as the capital of Lyncestis and the birthplace of Eurydice, grandmother of Alexander the Great. Recent research revealed a seven-acre acropolis with a theater and workshop, indicating human occupation since the Bronze Age. The site highlights the complex networks of ancient Macedonia and its trade routes.
