In the first two and a half months of this year, Hungary apprehended 3,790 border violators, a significant increase from 688 last year. Gyorgy Bakondi highlighted the need for international cooperation to combat human smuggling networks. Despite previous successes in pushing out criminal gangs along the Serbian border, recent months have seen a resurgence of these gangs and illegal migrants. Factors such as instability in Syria and Africa, along with the situation in Ukraine, are expected to sustain high migration levels.
