Archaeologists at the Egyptian site of Oxyrhynchus discovered a rare literary fragment of Homer's Iliad inside a mummy, revealing insights into Greco-Roman funerary practices. The find, led by Sherif Fathy and the University of Barcelona, occurred in tomb 65, which contained well-preserved funerary materials. The fragment, part of the mummy's wrappings, highlights the intersection of Egyptian and Greek traditions and enriches the archaeological record of the Al Menia province.
