During the first EU-Central Asia summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed the growing trade and investment ties between the EU and Central Asia, highlighting a quadrupling of trade turnover to 54 billion euros over seven years. He emphasized Uzbekistan's efforts to create a favorable business environment and improve the investment climate, with significant increases in trade and European investment. Mirziyoyev also pointed out the potential for Central Asia to enhance EU energy stability through renewable energy initiatives and proposed the creation of a Green Strategic Corridor.
