Hungarian government started negotiations on relaunching Norwegian Funds – Szabad Európa reports

An agreement has been reached between the European Commission and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism countries regarding the resumption of the Mechanism's operations in Hungary. Talks involved representatives from Hungary and Norway, aiming to restart negotiations that were suspended in 2021. The Orbán government previously attempted to control the Norwegian Fund's grants, leading to conflicts that resulted in Hungary not withdrawing funds. The current agreement may pave the way for further negotiations, with Poland already in talks for its share of funding.
