Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó's regular briefings to Russia on EU affairs have raised concerns in Brussels about Hungary's closeness to Moscow and the EU's internal protocols. Despite initially dismissing the claims, Szijjártó acknowledged his contacts with Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov. The situation has prompted discussions about Hungary's role within the EU and the need for stronger measures to address potential leaks and internal threats, especially as the country approaches critical elections.
