Szijjarto emphasized Bulgaria's crucial role in Hungary's gas supply security following a conversation with the Bulgarian energy minister. He praised Bulgaria's responsible government and confirmed that Bulgaria will continue to be a reliable transit partner. The TurkStream pipeline has already transported over 2.3 billion cubic meters of gas this year. Szijjarto noted the need for increased gas pipeline capacity in Southeastern Europe and welcomed Bulgaria's plans to enhance its pipeline capacity as part of the Vertical Gas Corridor project. He also mentioned the importance of EU involvement in regional energy security.
