The European Union has signed a significant trade agreement with India, described as the 'mother of all deals', aimed at enhancing predictability for businesses and reinforcing multilateral trade systems. European Council President António Costa emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two largest democracies in a multipolar world, while also addressing the need for alternatives to the US market due to recent tariff policies. The deal is expected to reduce tariffs on over 90% of European exports, saving around €4 billion annually.
