Indonesia and China have committed to enhancing maritime cooperation, focusing on security in the South China Sea amid Indonesian concerns over Chinese activities near the Natuna Islands. This follows a joint meeting of foreign and defense ministers in Beijing, where both nations emphasized infrastructure development and maritime security. Despite tensions, economic ties are strengthening, with China being Indonesia's largest trading partner. Both countries agreed to combat transnational crime and increase military cooperation, including joint counterterrorism drills.
