Business representatives reacted skeptically to a new EU single market strategy presented by Vice-President Stéphane Séjourné, which aims to strengthen internal trade by removing barriers between member states. Despite some interesting solutions proposed, there are concerns about the effectiveness of past initiatives. The strategy includes measures for cross-border recognition of qualifications and aims to ease business operations. A new category of 'small mid-caps' was also introduced, but responses were mixed regarding its limited exemptions from EU regulations.
