Ahmed Mazhar, known as the 'knight of Egyptian cinema', dedicated his life to plant-collecting, leading to the establishment of the Mazhar Botanic Garden, now run by his son Shehab Mazhar. Opened to the public in July 2024, the garden features 75,000 rare plant species and aims to preserve biodiversity and promote environmental sustainability. It employs advanced DNA classification technology and plays a significant role in carbon dioxide absorption, surpassing other gardens in Cairo.
