Iranian authorities have confiscated properties belonging to former football star Ali Karimi in Alborz province as part of a campaign against critics of the Islamic Republic. The assets include commercial spaces and apartments registered under his son's name. This follows a trend of asset seizures targeting various opponents of the regime, including journalists and social media influencers. Karimi, known as the 'Wizard of Asia,' has faced previous asset targeting after supporting the Women, Life, Freedom movement.
