Iran has summoned France's representative after the French foreign minister praised the Cannes-winning Iranian film 'It Was Just An Accident' as a gesture against the Iranian regime's oppression. The film, directed by Jafar Panahi, reflects his own experiences of imprisonment. Iran's Foreign Ministry criticized the French minister's comments, while Panahi's win was celebrated by pro-reform media and activists, despite state media's negative portrayal. Panahi, who has faced significant restrictions and imprisonment, emphasized the importance of freedom in his acceptance speech.
