The Palestinian foreign affairs minister, Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, criticized Israel for failing to protect Palestinians from settler violence and accused the Israeli government of supporting such actions. She highlighted the increase in violence since the October 2023 Hamas attacks and called for a change in policy regarding settlers. Aghabekian also condemned Israel's reinstatement of the death penalty for terrorist attacks, labeling it discriminatory against Palestinians. She expressed concerns over the marginalization of the Palestinian issue amid the Iran war and the economic struggles faced by Palestinians due to withheld tax revenues from Israel.
