The Israeli military has called for the complete evacuation of Gaza City ahead of an expanded offensive, marking the first full evacuation warning. Previous warnings had little effect on a displaced population unsure of safety in southern Gaza. Humanitarian groups warn of inadequate infrastructure for evacuees. Approximately 1 million Palestinians are in the area, with many unable to afford relocation costs. Protests against the evacuation orders occurred in Gaza City, while families of hostages in Jerusalem urged lawmakers to reconsider the offensive. The UN reported overcrowding at displacement sites and ongoing humanitarian aid efforts.
