Diplomats in Brussels are increasingly doubtful about enforcing a full ban on maritime services for Russian tankers due to various internal and external challenges. The ban, part of the 20th sanctions package, is currently on hold as G7 coordination is sought. While the EU pushes for enforcement, energy market turmoil and high oil prices deter action. Greece and Malta's interests complicate matters, with concerns about economic losses and the effectiveness of sanctions. The focus is shifting to adjusting the price cap on Russian oil amidst these challenges.
