Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni convened the second Italy-Africa summit in Addis Ababa to review the Mattei Plan, aimed at building partnerships with African nations. The summit coincides with the African Union summit, highlighting Italy's strategic interest in Africa. Experts note that while Italy has committed resources, funding remains limited and must be complemented by private investment. The plan has expanded from nine to 14 focus countries and emphasizes sectors like energy, infrastructure, and healthcare.
