Viktor Babaryko, a Belarusian opposition politician imprisoned for over 630 days, has been seen in new images after being held incommunicado since his arrest in 2020. His team describes the lack of contact as 'torturous'. The images show him sending greetings to family and indicate he has lost weight. Other political prisoners, including Maria Kolesnikova, remain unaccounted for. The release of these images comes ahead of the upcoming presidential election in Belarus, where no genuine opposition candidates are allowed. Concerns about the political climate and the treatment of prisoners persist.
