Starting this summer, hikers will need to pay an entry fee of ¥4,000 (€24.70) to climb Mount Fuji due to overtourism and environmental concerns. This fee applies to all four main paths and aims to reduce pollution and enhance safety. The fee doubles from last year's ¥2,000 (€12.35) for the popular Yoshida trail, which also has a daily visitor cap of 4,000. Proceeds will be used for environmental preservation and safety measures. Restrictions have already reduced visitor numbers significantly. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
