A jury in Austria is deliberating the case of Beran A, a 21-year-old who admitted to plotting a jihadist attack on a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna in August 2024. He is also charged with being part of a terrorist organization. Alongside him is Arda K, who is accused of being part of the same jihadist cell but not involved in the concert plot. Beran A was arrested after a CIA tip-off, leading to the cancellation of three sold-out concerts. Prosecutors claim he attempted to buy weapons and make a bomb, while his defense argues he was manipulated and not a ringleader. Both face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
