Cikk tartalma röviden
Monika Hohlmeier, a key lawmaker from Germany, stated that the European Parliament may block the EU's trillion-euro budget proposal if the beneficiaries of the funds remain undisclosed. She emphasized the need for transparency regarding the €750 billion stimulus plan related to the pandemic. EU Ombudsman Emily O’Reilly echoed this sentiment, highlighting citizens' rights to be informed about decisions affecting them. The European Commission's draft proposals aim to consolidate multiple EU funds into a single plan, which has sparked controversy and criticism from the EU’s Court of Auditors regarding the clarity and traceability of recovery funds.
