Latvia's fibre optic industry, centered in Latgalia, is rapidly expanding, with over 90% of its production exported to more than fifty countries. The sector is supported by the Optical Fiber Valley project, which has a budget exceeding €5.4 million, and is expected to contribute 10% to Latvia's GDP by 2036. Medical applications for fibre optics are increasing, with significant demand in various surgical fields, enhancing patient care and energy efficiency.
