Hankó Balázs, the Hungarian Minister for Culture and Innovation, presented Hungary's EU presidency research and innovation priorities at the European Parliament's ITRE committee in Brussels. He emphasized the need to focus on innovation, research, education, demographics, and culture to achieve a competitive turnaround in the EU. He noted the EU's weak position in global technology, with only four of the fifty largest tech companies based in Europe. He highlighted Hungary's significant increase in research and innovation funding over the past decade and stressed the importance of reducing disparities in funding among member states.
