German and Maltese bodies have been established to handle disputes under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), with their first social media appeal cases expected this week. These bodies aim to provide alternatives to costly legal routes and reduce the burden on regulators. The DSA, applicable to major online platforms since August 2023, mandates transparency in ads and content moderation. The German body, User Rights, has received around 250 complaints, while Malta's ADROIT has handled nearly 1,000 complaints. The Irish Appeals Centre Europe has also been certified to manage similar cases. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
