Meet the tiny Australian Moth that travels 1,000 km and navigates using the stars 😊
Cikk tartalma röviden
A new study reveals that Australian Bogong moths use the stars for navigation during their migration, traveling about 1,000 kilometers to cooler caves in the Australian Alps. This makes them the first known invertebrates to navigate such distances using starlight. Researchers conducted experiments showing that moths can orient themselves correctly when stars are in their expected positions, indicating their reliance on the night sky for guidance.
