The European Parliament's budgetary control committee has provisionally approved the EU's 2023 budget, rejecting right-wing attempts to criticize NGO funding. The committee dismissed proposals from Hungary's Fidesz party and France's Rassemblement National, as well as amendments from EPP lawmaker Monika Hohlmeier. The ECA criticized the European Commission for lack of transparency in NGO funding but found no wrongdoing.
