The Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) faced a setback with the capture of Audias Flores Silva, a top leader, by the Mexican military. This occurred two months after the cartel's previous leader was killed. Flores Silva was considered a potential successor and had a $5 million reward for his capture. His arrest, which took place in Nayarit without casualties, is viewed as a significant blow to the CJNG, which has been involved in increased violence following the death of its leader. The US has been actively involved in combating the cartel, designating it as a foreign terrorist organization.
