Migrant arrivals to Greece have decreased by 34% in the first half of 2026 compared to the previous year, according to Maritime Affairs Minister Vassilis Kikilias. The decline is most pronounced in arrivals from Turkey, which have dropped by 59%. The minister credits government planning and the coastguard's efforts for these results, highlighting their role in search and rescue operations.
