The Hungarian National Bank reports that there are 5,246 ATMs in Hungary, with 4,475 operated by banks and 771 by independent providers. 974 settlements have ATMs, while 2,181 do not. The MNB did not clarify if banks can be required to install ATMs in areas lacking them. A new bill suggests the MNB will oversee ATM distribution rules.
