Scientists have discovered new fossil evidence in Morocco that sheds light on the origins of modern humans, Neanderthals, and Denisovans. Jean-Jacques Hublin and his team report on 21 fossilized bones found in a cave near Casablanca, dating back approximately 773,000 years. These fossils suggest a common ancestor of Homo sapiens existed earlier than previously thought, with connections to both Homo antecessor and Homo erectus. The findings indicate that early humans in Africa and Europe shared common ancestry but evolved independently.
