A YouGov poll shows that 53% of UK respondents believe the British Museum should have a permanent exhibition on the transatlantic slave trade. Two-thirds agree on the museum's responsibility to educate the public about the UK's role in slavery. The letter sent to the museum's director emphasizes the need for such an exhibit, while a second letter to the UK Culture Secretary highlights the importance of acknowledging this history during the museum's renovation. Additionally, a memorial artwork titled 'The Wake' will be established in London to honor victims of transatlantic slavery.
