Tour guides at Mount Etna have gone on strike for the first time in decades, protesting new restrictions imposed by local authorities following recent eruptions. The restrictions limit excursions and require qualified guides, which the guides argue undermines their role. Tourists, including Claudia Mancini from Palermo, express disappointment over canceled activities. Experts assert that the lava flows are currently safe to view, raising questions about the necessity of the new rules.
