A wildfire in Sierra de Espuña, Murcia, has prompted an emergency operation with the Military Emergencies Unit (UME) on alert due to strong winds complicating control efforts. Regional president Fernando López Miras confirmed the UME's readiness for rapid intervention. The fire, which started at 11:42 near Llano de las Cabras, has mobilized firefighters from the Murcia Regional Fire and Rescue Consortium. The Special Civil Protection Plan for Forest Fires (Infomur Plan) is activated at level 2, allowing for extraordinary resources and potential national emergency declaration. Units from the 3rd Intervention Battalion are en route from Valencia to assist.
