A wildfire in Sierra de Espuña, Murcia, has triggered an emergency operation with the Military Emergencies Unit (UME) on alert due to strong winds complicating control efforts. Regional president Fernando López Miras confirmed the UME's standby status, while central government delegate Francisco Lucas announced the deployment of resources. The fire, which started at 11:42 near Llano de las Cabras, has mobilized firefighters from local stations. The Special Civil Protection Plan for Forest Fires has been activated at level 2, allowing for additional resource requests and potential national emergency declaration. Monitoring continues as adverse weather affects the fire's progress.
