New Berlinale chief Tricia Tuttle says Germany’s Israel-Gaza stance poses threat to festival 😔
Cikk tartalma röviden
The Berlin Film Festival's new director, Tricia Tuttle, expresses concerns that Germany's stance on the Gaza conflict may deter artists from participating. She highlights fears among filmmakers regarding freedom of expression and the potential backlash against criticism of Israel, especially following a controversial resolution by the German parliament. Tuttle reassures artists about the festival's commitment to pluralism, while recent award speeches by filmmakers expressing solidarity with Palestine have sparked political controversy and accusations of antisemitism.
