Tashkent's first permanent Centre for Contemporary Arts will open on March 21, 2026, transforming a former industrial power station into a cultural hub for Uzbekistan. Initiated by Gayane Umerova, the centre aims to foster contemporary art and a creative economy. The architectural design by Studio KO incorporates local materials and modern elements. Dr. Sara Raza serves as the Artistic Director, promoting dialogue among diverse audiences. The inaugural exhibition, Hikmah, will feature various artists and coincide with the Navruz Gala and Festival, establishing the centre as a civic venue.
